Банк Соединенных Штатов Америки, получивший лицензию (чартер) у контролера денежного обращения, принадлежащий к Федеральной резервной системе и отвечающий всем требованиям, предъявляемым к национальным банкам согласно закону о Национальном банке. На территории США только федеральные банки, банки штатов и другие уполномоченные институты имеют право принимать депозиты.
